Grade Levels

Parent and Tot

Parent and Tot classes are for children 2-4 years old and a caregiver. Exercises are introduced in a fun, friendly and positive manner while enhancing their balance, coordination, strength, confidence and social skills through music and movement. Bare feet and comfortable attire.

Pre-Ballet

A wonderful introduction to ballet with creative movement. This class helps develop balance, coordination, motor skills, introduces ballet movements and vocabulary.​ Option to dance multiple times weekly for dancers who can’t wait for dance just once a week! Bare feet and no shoes required.

Primary

A weekly, one hour class that builds on the foundation of the Pre-ballet classes and introduces tap. As the ballet skills are developing, the dexterity and musicality of tap dancing is helps instill rhythm and agility. Option to dance multiple times weekly for dancers who can’t wait for dance just once a week!

Grade I

Builds on the skills learned in Primary and includes more challenging combinations and new vocabulary in both ballet and tap.​ Longer class and option to dance multiple times weekly for dancers who can’t wait for dance just once a week!

Grade II

In addition to the increased level of ballet technique and tap skills, Grade II dancers will have an introduction to Modern Dance styles. Learning modern dance skills emphasizes strength and flexibility of the spine and freedom of movement while maintaining control of the center. Dancers in Grade II are required take a minimum of two ballet plus two additional classes weekly, which is included with the monthly tuition.

Grade III

Dancers will enjoy the progression of dance technique in ballet, tap modern and have the option of modern pre-pointe, jazz, and musical theater.​ Dancers at this level are required to take a minimum of two ballet and two additional classes per week included in the monthly tuition fee and are encouraged to attend additional.

Grade IV

Grade IV dancers will enjoy the progression of dance technique in all three areas of ballet, tap, modern, Musical Theater class and Repertory Class. Grade IV, V, and VI is where the dancer hones their foundation skills in ballet. Twice per week ballet is now 75-120 minutes for the monthly fee with option of many additional styles. The unlimited fee becomes a great option and includes up to 3 costumes for spring performances.

Grade V

Grade V dancers will enjoy the progression of dance technique in all three areas of ballet, tap, modern, musical theater, repertory and new this season is jazz.Grade IV, V, and VI is where the dancer hones their foundation skills in ballet. Twice per week ballet is now 75-120 minutes for the monthly fee with option of many additional styles. The unlimited fee becomes a great option and includes up to 3 costumes for spring performances.

Grade VI

Grade VI dancers will enjoy the progression of dance technique in all three areas of ballet, tap, modern, musical theater, repertory and new this season is Jazz.Grade IV, V, and VI is where the dancer hones their foundation skills in ballet. Twice per week ballet is now 75-120 minutes for the monthly fee with option of many additional styles. The unlimited fee becomes a great option and includes up to 3 costumes for spring performances.

Adult Ballet and Tap

Join us for class! Drop in rates for busy adults. No special attire, except ballet slippers and tap shoes, on hand at the studio! 

Enrichment Programs

Adair Dance Academy also directs dance enrichment programs in our community. Classes for the young dancer are held at Montessori Children’s Room, the Kroc Center and at St Michael Lutheran Church with informal on site recitals.
